Music

Concordia has an extensive school music program. All students from Preschool to 5th grade have music class receiving education on the music theory from the core curriculum.  A important activity of the school is the children‘s choirs, organized for the purpose of aiding and beautifying worship. Whether, it is for our school chapel services, during regular Sunday services, at local nursing homes, etc.  All students participate at performances will affect their music grade in K-8th grade. These choirs rehearse during the school day and perform regularly in Chapel and services during the year. These presentations are the culmination of much hard work and are most satisfying to each child participant.  Parents should make every effort to ensure their child’s attendance.

All students in 4th grade will learn to play an instrument.  Students 6-8th grade may participate in Concert Choir and/or Handbells.  Students 5-8th grade may participate in our Band Program.  Students in band receive a semi-private lesson as well as whole band instruction.  For band there is a fee to offset the cost of the program.  The student is responsible for the acquiring his or her own instrument for band.
