We believe that the growth and development of the individual child can be fostered best in a Christian environment. Concordia started a Preschool Program in 1996, with a Pre-Kindergarten four year old class, and a Preschool Three Year Old class was in 2007 as an additional service to the community. We believe that parents look for specialized and individual attention for their child's first experience away from home. Concordia Christian Day School, Preschool and Childcare are licensed by the State of North Carolina, and many of our policies follow guidelines that are set by the state. The preschool program is licensed for eighteen preschool three-year-old students and twenty-five preschool four-year-old students with a main teacher and teacher assistant at all times. The Preschool Director handles enrollment and any administrative concern.
The tuition covers the Monday – Friday program from 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Children entering this program will turn three or four on or before August 31st of the school year. Children must be potty trained in order to attend program. We provide your child with teachers who are trained and certified in early childhood education and who are experienced in working with children.
Teachers use the best of a variety of curriculums available, such as High Reach, Frog Street Press and many more. The students interact with hands on learning and centers. Children are exposed to subjects across the curriculum including math, science, listening skills, and reading readiness. They will have religion and will attended chapel services each Wednesday with a 8th Grade student as a chapel buddy. Each week the preschool classes will have music, library, and gym. Twice a month the Stretch–N-Grow program comes in and works with the preschool. The Conover Fire Department does a fire safety program once a month. Also, field trips are scheduled for school year for the students and parents to attend.
